We run two zipline tours in the Royal Gorge region, and both run year-round with expert guides. One is built for first-timers and one for thrill seekers. Here is how they compare, including the age and weight limits that decide it for many groups.

The 9-Line Classic Tour

Nine ziplines span the canyon, with panoramic views of the Arkansas River valley as you fly between platforms. The tour takes 2 to 3 hours and suits first-time zippers. Riders must be 12 or older and weigh 50 to 250 pounds.

The 11-Line Extreme Tour

Eleven ziplines, including the mega-zip, with longer, faster, and higher lines than the Classic. The tour takes 3 to 4 hours and is built for thrill seekers. Riders must be 13 or older and weigh 75 to 250 pounds.

The weight ranges are there so the braking system works properly, so check everyone in your group against them before you book.

How to choose

  • First time on a zipline: the Classic Tour.
  • A 12-year-old in the group: the Classic Tour, which starts at age 12. The Extreme starts at 13.
  • A rider under 75 pounds: the Classic Tour, which starts at 50 pounds.
  • Want more lines and more time in the air: the Extreme Tour, with 11 lines over 3 to 4 hours.

Between April 15 and October 15 you can pair a tour with a rafting trip. See which rafting trip fits your group, and book the tour on the zipline page.
